Rain in Fairbanks?

For those of you who know that Fairbanks is basically a desert, this was
a freak rain/hail storm in July. It rained crazy hard for about ten or
fifteen minutes and then the sun came out and there wasn't a cloud in
the sky. The hail was just under pea sized and almost completely
covered the ground after the storm. Very strange weather. So yes, it
can rain (really rain) in Fairbanks... This was news to me.
